George Jones is identified as the author of the chain of novels associated with the pseudonym Leigh Cliffe (see also EN2 1822: 49, 1823: 49, 1829: 49) in Block, ECB, and several modern library catalogues. This sequence of works is nevertheless claimed by Christian Frederick Wieles in his approach to the Royal Literary Fund (see RLF 12: 444; and, for further details, EN2 Update 4). ECB 569 lists Newman edn, Nov 1820, but not discovered in this form.
