Notes: The 1st and 2nd edns were combined in the impression of 1750
copies. The impression book appears to indicate that on 3 July 1818,
£50 was ‘presented [to] author’. The sum itself
is questionable (it could be 150, for example), and it is unclear
what this payment is for. It is possibly either an advance, or a payment
for the copyright of the 2nd edn.
