Letter from Owen Rees to Anna Maria Porter.

Mr Brown has put your letter into my hands to answer as to your intended novel [The Recluse of Norway (EN2 1814: 46)], respecting which I have consulted with my partners. For Don Sebastian we gave you Fifty Guineas P volume; and, on referring to the account of that work, we find that the utmost we could propose for a new work from your pen would be the same sum per volume. When we last took stock we had about 100 copies remaining of Don Sebastian.
