Notes: ‘An Advertisement having just appeared, announcing
the publication in a few days of TALES OF REAL LIFE; forming a sequel
to the TALES OF FASHIONABLE LIFE, by Miss Edgeworth, it is become
necessary, especially as this is not the first attempt to impose upon
the public by assuming her name, to inform them that Miss Edgeworth
has no design to publish any thing more in a short time, and that
what has appeared, or may hereafter be published, bearing her name,
which is not printed by her bookseller, J. Johnson, in St. Paul’s
Churchyard, is spurious’. [with list of Edgeworth’s fiction
